Sleeping Dogs feels most authentic when you’re walking down the street. The city is strange, wrong, a fiction – but it’s still undeniably Hong Kong. Its outdoor areas feel squeezed while its indoor environments expand to ludicrous dimensions. It’s recognizable at street level, but falls apart the moment the player calls up the map or looks out to sea. Sleeping Dogs provides a schizophrenic vision of Hong Kong. But with Sleeping Dogs: The Definitive Edition launching recently and the release schedule finally cooling off, I thought it was time to revisit and see how the game measured up to reality.

You will now be back to walking arm in arm with Amanda, who will tell you that a guy bought her the nice white dress she is now wearing. Hit up to bring out your camera and use the left trigger to zoom before using the right trigger to snap the picture. Walk in front of the fountain and she will ask you to take a picture of her doing some sort of bizarre pose in front of the fountain. You will now jump back into the gameplay, where you will be walking with an arm around Amanda. Amanda will tell you that she wants pictures for her online blog.
Amanda will be frustrated at the closure of the park, which is only open on the weekend. A cutscene will trigger in which the two of you meet up. Follow your waypoint to the park and hop out to meet up with Amanda for your date. A pink line will guide you to Amanda at Magistrate Park. Head into your minimap and look for the pink waypoint marker, which will be labeled "Photograph Amanda." Holla! Activate the waypoint and hop into the nearest vehicle. Wei will accept the offer, and you will agree to head out on a leisurely date. She will invite you to meet up at Magistrate Park. Wei will ask her to meet up, and she will agree. Once in the Contacts section, select Amanda and give her a call.
Pick up your cell phone by hitting up on the D-Pad and select the Contacts menu from the phone's menu. We do need a break from all of that action, after all.
